BITCHIN’ HOLIDAY JAMZ
BITCHIN’ (winter) JAM #3: “Winter ‘05” by Ra Ra Riot.
Sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad.
3 days until BITCHIN’ HOLIDAY JAMZ!
BITCHIN’ HOLIDAY JAMZ
BITCHIN’ (winter) JAM #2: “Through the Winter” by Make Your Exit
Once again, here’s a song that isn’t necessarily about Christmas or the holiday season, but it’s about the strain that winter depression* has a person and his/her relationships. It’s sad, but accurate. So sorry, but ENJOY!
*Don’t worry, BITCHIN HOLIDAY JAMZ are on their way starting December 1st!
Black Friday is pretty much over. I was at the Mall of America for a little while this afternoon and at one moment near the Orange Julius I thought a family of Midwesterners had turned into a pack of starving hippos.
Anyways, listen to and download Your Holiday Heart. It’s the special holiday edition of Other People’s Music. You won’t be disappointed!
BITCHIN’ HOLIDAY TUNEZ
BITCHIN’ (winter) TUNE #1: “Winter” by The Dodos
This song is killer and is a great start to the holiday season, not exactly a holiday song, not exactly not a holiday song. Here’s to the transition!

In March of 2011, Noah and the Whale will release the follow-up to their 2009 LP, First Days of Spring, via Lost Club/Mercury Records. Speaking to Zane Lowe recently, frontman Charlie Fink revealed that the 10-track, 33-minute album, Last Night on Earth, was co-produced by Jason Lader — who produced Julian Casablancas’ recent solo debut, Phrazes for the Young — and was recorded primarily in Los Angeles, CA. Additional sessions were done at a synagogue in London’s Bethnal Green district.
Those are the only details unveiled thus far, but the good news is we’ll be getting a taste of the album shortly as the first single will begin airing on the radio next week. Noah and the Whale have also announced a 7-date string of concerts in the U.K. next year. Check out the itinerary and watch video from part of Fink’s chat with Lowe below:
